Canada Express Entry Draw
A draw (also called as Canada Entry Draw) is launched by the IRCC every
fortnight to select the best candidates for the issuance of invitation in order to
apply for PR visa. The qualifying marks (CRS Score requirement) for every
express entry draw are decided. The candidates whose scores exceed the qualifying
marks, become eligible to receive ITA from the IRCC.
Point Requirements for Canada Express Entry
The candidates who submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) in Express Entry
System are given points based on the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) for
their each profile detail, i.e. age, qualification, language proficiency, work
experience, etc. The candidate’s CRS score is formed by the aggregate of these
points. The candidates who have the highest CRS score get selected by IRCC in its
periodic Express Entry draws.
Canada Express Entry System Application Process
Here’s the process to apply in express entry system of Canada. Following are the
two key steps of the Express Entry system
Step 1) An online express entry profile is completed by the potential
candidates. The candidates who are qualified are placed in a pool.

The assessment of the candidates will be carried out against others within

territorial/provincial nominations are invited to apply for permanent

Impact Assessment or province nomination are required to register
themselves with the Social and Employment Development of Canada.
Step 2) The candidates having the highest ranking in the pool are invited to
apply for the permanent residence.
Candidates will be ranked against others in the pool, based on a points system
called the Comprehensive Ranking System. Points will be awarded based on the
information provided in their profiles, i.e. age, language proficiency, work
experience, qualification, etc. Candidates having the highest scores in the pool are
issued an Invitation to Apply.
A candidate scores additional points for:

If Candidate gets Selected for ITA in any of the Express Entry Draws
If a candidate is invited to apply, they will be given 60 days for the submission of
online application of permanent residence. The IRCC will proceed the best part of
entire permanent residence applications that is received in six months or less.
Candidates are allowed to stay in the pool up to 12 months. If they do not receive
an invitation to apply for permanent residence within 12 months of submission of
an express entry profile, they will have to submit a new profile.
